Millstreet Community School Wishes TY Students Success in Junk Kouture 2025!

Millstreet Community School is beaming with pride as three of our talented Transition Year students—Smilte, Amanda, and Alex—take on the 2025 Junk Kouture competition with their incredible design, Something Blue.

This stunning creation is not just a testament to their creativity but also a powerful statement on sustainability. The team has focused on Global Goals 13 (Climate Action) and 14 (Life Below Water), using fashion as a platform to raise awareness about environmental issues. Their design incorporates an astonishing 452 hand-stitched flowers made from recycled egg cartons, showcasing their dedication to upcycling and reducing waste.

We wish Smilte, Amanda, and Alex the very best of luck in the competition! No matter the outcome, their innovation and hard work have already made Millstreet Community School extremely proud.

Stay tuned for updates as they continue their Junk Kouture journey!
